The Game of Thrones has begun and Indians are gearing to choose their next Prime Minister in a month. In the previous blog, I jotted down some points that We, the People of India, expect from our representative. This blog is a continuation of the previous blog. Following are few of the segments that, given good attention, will result in an all round development of our nation.

Sports
"All
work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy" - we came across this phrase a
lot during childhood. In fact, with predominance of young Indian population in
the country having lot of energy and potential contained within them, it is the
perfect time to fetch maximum output with much lesser input. Indian runner Hima
das, winning a gold medal in an international sprint event exemplifies the
future prospective of sports in India. The northeastern part of India is a
natural pool of budding sportsmen who with proper guidance and
nurturing might bring pride for the country in near future.
Individuals
with sporting skills are being recognized and are provided monthly stipend as
well as proper training facilities to help them pursue sports as career. Such
system is required on a very vast scale in a diverse country like India, where
sports is generally given less priority. Shifting of mindset by raising
awareness is an utmost necessity too.
Ensuring Safety of Citizens
Safety of
citizens living in the country should be the topmost priority of any
government. Especially, in a country like India where in addition to national
threats, international anti-peace elements too try to disrupt peace. While
India is capable of coping with the international threats, having 4th largest
army in the world; others thriving inside the country are somewhat hard to
track due to inherent difficulties. Also, radicalisation of youths can be
curbed by instilling moral values in them.
Furthermore,
crime against women have been constantly rising each year. As of 2012, about 244270 cases of violence against women were reported. A
holistic mindset should be adopted for preventing the same apart from what the
government and various organisations are doing collectively. They deserve
respect not because they are women but because they are human beings too.
More Investment in Scientific Research and Innovations
Innovation is key to human existence. With rapid increase in population, natural resources
are draining out at a much faster rate. In order to sustain our limited natural
resources, innovations are needed to be done to find alternate solutions to
different types of problems.
Setting
up more elite educational institutions like the IITs, AIIMS, IISc etc. will
help in this regard a lot. Easy clearance of funding for research
purposes by the governmental organisations will make the process a lot easier
for sure.
Not only
is India's exploration limited to the earth but has also expanded to the outer
space as well. India have sent missions on Moon and Mars till date. It is on
its way to send human beings to space for the first time in Indian history. The
success in testing the ASAT missile is yet another milestone achieved by Indian
Space Research Organisation. To keep the pace up with fast growing world, we
will constantly have to invest more and more in newer technologies and
researches.
Development of Infrastructure
For the all-round development of a nation, developing its infrastructure is of utmost importance irrespective of geographical location of different regions. Well made roads lead to faster commute and consumes less time. Also, emergency services will be available on time. Roads devoid of potholes will help in decreasing the number of road accidents. Properly made school buildings keeping in view the basic needs of the curriculum will be beneficial for them in long run. Hospitals having good infrastructure and equipment will enable doctor to treat patients in a better way. Malls and departmental stores too are of great help and convenient for the general public to meet their needs
Wrapping whole things up, I am of the opinion that India has been a rapidly
developing country since independence. The invaders left this beautiful country
with much devastating consequences and lesser constructiveness; yet it has
managed itself to emerge as a fast growing large economy of the world. Apart
from the things that I tried to point out, I would like my next Prime
Minister in his five year term to look into sectors such as Agriculture (which certainly needs a dedicated blog) such that a strong foundation of an
inclusive society where every species can sustain and thrive in peace can be
built.
