Internet Technology - The Way We Are Making Use Of It

In this era of technology, Smartphones and Smart Gadgets rule the lives of millions. We order our basic needs via internet, communicate through the same using latest technologies and you know what's more interesting? We do not even have to move out of our houses just for the sake of seeing the doctor. And yeah, we are now too lazy to ask locals for the directions to a place (Huh! who cares. We have GPS). Bored of attending classes? Don't worry, YouTube caters for this need too.

The way in which smart devices are revolutionizing our communication, lifestyle, travel as well as teaching, some predict that it will soon outsmart the human brain. I agree, this is not gonna happen tomorrow or in the upcoming year as well. But, the question is - Did we learn how to make use of technology?

As of 2016, more than 2.1 billion people are using a smartphone. This rate seems to be ever growing with access to fast internet connection and cheaper smartphones. While we hold in our hands a great tool which is capable of launching 120,000,000 Apollo era space-crafts all at the same time to the moon, we are still mostly stuck at Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram. Is this justifiable in any way for an ever-evolving creature like the Human Being? Certainly not. When most of us know how to make use of technology for uploading selfies and applying filters, we cannot gather up enough courage even to Apply Online for a Job Opening via a Web Application. Extremely powerful technologies like the modern days' computers have become only a source of online entertainment and we shake our hands off the keyboard if asked to make a Word or PowerPoint document. As more and more people join the internet, data gathered from their online presence are being used to manipulate our thought process with targeted propaganda and Ads of multinational companies. We have already exposed our likes and dislikes in many fields like food, entertainment etc. to the MNCs. You don't believe me? How do YouTube knows what song you might like? I hope you found your answer.

So, how can we make the best use out of it?
The things that I am going to tell is not rocket science.

  • Dare to do online submissions of various applications on your own. Trust me, as far as you know the difference between "Ok" and "Cancel", you aren't going to land into any trouble.
  • If you are interested in quizzing, you can participate in various quizzing events online. Government of India organizes weekly quizzing events awarding prize money to the winners. Login to https://mygov.in/blog to know more.
  • Start writing blogs in blogging platforms like Wordpress, Blogger, Medium etc.
  • If you expertise in a particular field, do share your knowledge in platforms like Quora, Socratic etc. Sharing knowledge enhances one's scope of learning.
  • If you are particularly keen about learning a Programming Language or anything related to modern days' technologies, you can always search them up in YouTube. I assure, you will always end up learning something precious.
What we have achieved as a whole till date is a result of our curiousness and inquisitiveness. We have managed to reach this peak of technology from nothing. Imagine what we might achieve in next some years with steps taken wisely.Thank You.

Can Rahul Gandhi's resignation revive the Congress Party?

About 8.3 crores new voter voted in the last Lok Sabha elections, myself being one among them. So, as far as I learnt and know about the recent past of the Congress party, I would say it would be hard.. very hard for resuscitating the party once again considering Rahul Gandhi’s resignation as well. Rahul Gandhi has been the President of the party since quite some years, but now he finally decided to step down after his resignation letter was turned down by the working committee some months back. The party has just lost its charms. With all those allegations of scam on several top class leaders of the party, and less or no improvement in the grass root level workers, have even deteriorated the places which were known to be the stronghold of Congress. The recent defeat of Rahul Gandhi in the hands of Smriti Irani indicates the same. There were several states where congress’s list remained null in the elections for Lok Sabha 2019. On the other hand, what I have seen in the case of...

Dear 17th Prime Minister ... [2/2]

The Game of Thrones has begun and Indians are gearing to choose their next Prime Minister in a month. In the previous blog, I jotted down some points that We, the People of India, expect from our representative. This blog is a continuation of the previous blog. Following are few of the segments that, given good attention, will result in an all round development of our nation.  In case you missed the 1st part, Read: Dear 17th Prime Minister ... [1/2] Sports "All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy " - we came across this phrase a lot during childhood. In fact, with predominance of young Indian population in the country having lot of energy and potential contained within them, it is the perfect time to fetch maximum output with much lesser input. Indian runner Hima das, winning a gold medal in an international sprint event exemplifies the future prospective of sports in India. The northeastern part of India is a natural pool of budding sportsmen who with prope...

Usual Yet Undesirable - An Eye Opener

So, writing this travel blog after a long period of time. It was 7th of February, 2019, and I was at Gauhati University for participation in ongoing State Youth Parliament organised by  MyGov  after being selected in the top 5 from district level. I, along with one of my friend reached there on time, though the competition started little late. We were given four topics, on one of which we had to speak for about 4 minutes. Participants, one after the other, started talking about their chosen topics. Initially, everyone was spreading their thought on the topic named "One Nation, One election"  when the trend ended abruptly and another topic named "Swacchata - Building a mass movement" came into the trend. Some of the fellow mates spread their words on the remaining two topics as well with a view to secure their spot on the list of the top two participants who will go to Delhi to attend the National Youth Parliament.  Halfway past the program, when my friend t...
